About the Founder
Ethan Beardsworth owns Chase Your Sky, and here’s his story: As with many people, the pandemic changed Ethan’s life. Working from home in the Investment Management industry, he put on a lot of weight. Again, this is something that many of us experienced. Unfortunately for him, this combination of a poor diet and a sedentary lifestyle led to some severe health problems. Ethan developed hypertension and sleep apnea and would get winded after walking for a block or so.
Something had to change. Ethan started small so as not to get discouraged. He began walking daily, trying to do a little more than the previous day. Such a simple thing as walking, something many of us take for granted, was not easy, but he kept at it. Ethan began tracking his progress and ensuring he walked more than the day before to keep himself motivated.
Progress was slow at first, and his body hurt, all of it. Ethan listened to audiobooks to help keep himself motivated, which worked for a while. However, when listening to these books, he felt he was missing out on experiencing his surroundings. To try something new, Ethan began taking photos. Like the walking, progress started slow, and his photography was not great. He was, however, enjoying himself, and focusing on his surroundings gave him a greater sense of connectedness to nature.

Such a simple thing as walking, something many of us take for granted, was not easy, but he kept at it. Ethan began tracking his progress and ensuring he walked more than the day before to keep himself motivated.
Initially, progress was slow, and Ethan’s entire body ached. He listened to audiobooks to stay motivated, which worked for a while.
Fast-forward about a year. Ethan had lost close to 90 pounds, and his photography skills were getting quite sharp. Still working from home, he would sneak in walks whenever he could. Getting up early to try and get a couple of miles in before work started had the additional benefit of catching some of the better natural lighting for his photography, one of the golden hours, as they say.
One morning, the sky was particularly brilliant. Lost in walking and searching to capture nature’s brilliance, Ethan wandered much farther than he intended. He noticed the time when he opened his phone’s messages to send his mother some of the morning shots. Ethan had a meeting in 30 minutes and meandered nearly two miles from home. As he changed his tack and quickly headed home, he responded to his mother, telling her what predicament he had created himself.
Ethan’s mother laughed and advised him to hurry home. He acknowledged this and told her he could sometimes get lost all day chasing the sky. Ethan didn’t know it just then, but that would be the start of Chase Your Sky. Let us help you Chase Your Sky.
Chad Perry
Chad was born and raised in East Montpelier, Vermont. After graduating from high school, he and a close-knit group of friends moved to Colorado for a gap year before most ventured to college.
Chad’s decision to join the Marines in 2001, amidst the chaos of the September 11th attacks, led to four years and two combat deployments in the Marine Corps infantry. The harsh realities of war left their mark but forged unbreakable bonds. During this period in his life, a lifelong group of friends was formed, a brotherhood united by their shared experiences and camaraderie during those harrowing times.
After four years in the Marines, Chad enrolled at the University of Vermont, earning a degree in Economics. Following graduation, he took an office job at Courtland Construction Corporation, where he has worked since. The wear and tear on his knees and back from his time in the Marines was acerbated by the lethargy of a typical office environment—too much sitting and insufficient movement. The issues with Chad’s knees and back got so bad that he eventually had to get dressed on the floor and keep crutches always readily available in case his back spasms flared up. Most lounge time was spent on the floor because chairs and couches exacerbated that pain even more.
However, Chad’s determination and resourcefulness led him to discover a combination of diet modification, physical exercise, and other natural therapies that significantly improved his health. These changes have allowed him to lead a more normal life, free from the limitations he once faced. Whether sitting on the couch with those he loves enjoying a book, hiking with his dog, or running a spartan race with good friends. These remarkable health improvements and his deep desire to assist others facing similar challenges inspired him to co-found Chase Your Sky with Ethan.
